American Baptist

Traditionally, The American Baptist Churches USA holds to typical baptist doctrine within a framework of diversity of race, ethnicity, culture, class, and theology. Each church is autonomous to formulate their own beliefs, doctrines and policies and therefore, there is much diversity among the churches with some being more liberal or more conservative than others. In general, the ABCUSA seems to be more liberal than the Southern Baptist Convention i.e., women can be ordained.
