Last year my son, Joel, worshipped with you twice before Thanksgiving. He was a stranger to you, tall, with a beard. I heard that he sobbed throughout each sermon and that each of you hugged him before he left. Joel was brought up in the church but hadn't attended for over 25 years. Rick, your pastor, visited him in the hospital and gave him a Bible, prayed with him, and asked him to start reading John. Joel died the next Sunday, several days after Thanksgiving.
