On May 20th some emails accidentally went out automatically to some of our Church Partners with the subject line "Your subscription has been cancelled". If you received that email, I want to reassure you that is not the case - no subscriptions were cancelled. We sent another email out that same morning, but I wanted to share a better explanation with you.
During an upgrade to the website, we accidentally deleted some of our Partner Church accounts, which triggered those emails to automatically be sent out. Actually it was me (Lee Raney) - I made the mistake. I was working in the middle of the night on testing some things related to our upcoming website upgrade, and accidentally deleted some accounts in our ChurchFinder TEST environment (not the live website but a back-up website we use for testing new features). Without realizing it, when I did this it deleted all of your "subscription" information - including your credit card on file - with our partner Recurly. We are PCI DSS compliant, but for even more protection for you we do NOT store any of your credit card information on our website. Instead we partner with a company called Recurly - they are PCI-LSS Level 1 compliant, and they are the ones that store your credit card information on our behalf.
All accounts were restored that same day on ChurchFinder.com, but your credit card info which was on file with Recurly was deleted also.
