Former Member

Not a Biblical Church

Former life long “member” of this church. For some time I was also apart of the inner circle. I left some years ago because I’d discovered sound teaching and began to read and study the Scriptures apart from the bankrupt eisegesis that takes place here. No pastor here meets the Biblical criteria for eldership. The “head” or “senior” pastor is accountable to no man. Over the years he has covered up grotesque actions perpetrated by his daughter who, as an adult, ran away with another girl in the church who was a minor at the time to engage in a romantic affair. Her mother never pressed charges, but was told by Salazar’s brother in law, another leadership pastor, that it was best that SHE leave the church. Sergio also lies to his congregation about his two “other” children from a previous relationship, Ryan and Audrey who up until very recently has actively told them he never wants to hear from them or see their faces. These are the two foremost leaders of the church, and for years they have ordained many more unqualified men to ministry. At one point in their 40ish year history the ministry boasted near 100 churches planted throughout the globe, but that vast majority have since closed their doors due to the poor discipleship and the fruit of unqualified pastors. They have no written church constitution or true government. They give the congregation zero account of the finances. Richard Salazar, their lead pastor, has used general funds for business endeavors like a failed cafe and bookstore, and to keep a “school” they run afloat. No pastor who has ever sat on their leadership board, which has recently split from the fellowship due to Salazar’s unethical behavior, has ever been ordained properly by strict Biblical criteria and examination. Lifelong members are regularly “kicked out“ quietly behind closed doors by Sergio, Richard’s right hand man. I still have friends and family who attend this church, and I can only hope and pray that eventually they shut their doors completely or that the Lord exposes their missing of the mark so explicitly that these loved ones have no choice but to walk away from such a poor representation of Christ’s bride. I love many members there, but many have yet to overcome the fear to leave because of comfort or sadly, some still have a “gang” type of mentality that they cannot place over what a Biblical body and its leadership should look like. People who attend will literally say that this is their church and pastor, and will also tell you they aren’t believers. It’s heartbreaking. Please refrain from visiting. Despite the laser show, the music, the ornate decor of the sanctuary... this is not Biblical leadership, and it will only hurt your family in the long run by filling you with man centered, bankrupt theology.
