I started attending this church almosts four years ago. I was surprised and relieved to find a church with members from such a diverse background. I found acceptance and motivation at Simi Valley UCC. I would not attend a church that didn't welcome people of all faiths, backgrounds, sexual orientations, etc. This church doesn't preach tolerance, but whole-hearted love and acceptance. I also appreciate the fact that this church doesn't require me to suspend my understanding of science and nature. There is no conflict between God and science, and this church understands that and embraces both at once. I am happy that I have never felt pressure to change my beliefs to fit in with the members of this church. I don't always agree with other people's beliefs, and we learn and grow through our diversity.
