When I first came to UCC, it was to attend the 25th Anniversary of a couple I was friends with. They were renewing their vows and the church was filled with their family and friends. There was beautiful music and happiness. The next time I came to UCC was for the funeral of the man who had, just a short time before renewed his vows with the woman he loved. The church was filled with church members, family and friends. Dr. June Goudey was the new pastor and she spoke about my friend in solemn tones about how much he loved his wife and his sons and granddaughter and how much we would all miss him.
I became a member of this church because of the intellectual discussions and the diversity found and accepted here. I love the music. I participate in their discussion groups as often as possible. I am so happy that UCC fixes a meal for the homeless and those in need of a good meal.
