I first started attending this church my freshman year of college after I was invited by some friends who lived on my hall in my dorm. I grew up going to church but had never really committed to Christianity and had stopped going to church my first semester in college. I decided to check it out and was immediately blown away by the authentic love and care I saw from the members of the church. Even though it is a larger church (over 1000 members), it really does feel like a family and not just a place people come to for Sunday service and leave. Expect someone to come talk to you if you come out and deep authentic friendships to be made. To finish my story, after coming out to church, I was invited to do a small group Bible study with the campus minister and the two other guys on my hall. Through those studies and attending services and campus ministry events regularly, I grew so much in my relationship with God and ultimately decided to make Jesus lord of my life through baptism. It has been 7 years since that decision and it was definitely the best decision of my life. Members of North River were a huge reason. So come out and check it out and see the love of Christ through these disciples of Christ for yourself!
