First thing I noticed was the friendliness of the people. The preaching is relaxed informal, and biblically sound from the KJV. When asked for bylaws and Statement of Faith, the constitution was presented right away. Even though American Baptist Churches allow women ministers, the church constitution states the preacher must be a man. However, according to the constitution, women can serve in other leadership roles. The congregation is small and mostly mid to older aged with a few teens. The preacher and his wife both work secular jobs. Singing is from a Gaither hymnal but not very enthusiastic and there is a woman available to play the piano, organ, or keyboard. Local outreach and other local churches were mentioned during announcements or in prayer lists.
