I was new to Pentecost and in unhealed relationship with the father of our 2 and 3 year old. The pastor advised my fiancé to get custody of the babies from me before he ever met me even though there was no basis for that. Following this a “prayer warrior” from their church admitted to praying that I would be “led away and destroyed of my own lust” because I don’t wear long dresses. After giving it one more chance and counseling together with my fiancé with the current pastor I was told about how women have PMS(even though I don’t have such issues), how I need to have a Bible study with him on why women should wear long dresses, how I need to get saved and become a godly woman. Even though I did not argue with him and was going to try and give him the benefit of the doubt, the pastor then told my fiancé that I am not worth the time because I have “major character issues”. He also preceded to tell my fiancé that he was only with me because we have kids and I’m cute but that my fiancé could find someone as good as me in “skid row”. All while telling me that he wants to help me and my other 6 kids. There is no way I’d ever allow myself or my kids to be “helped” by him or a church like this. If it wasn’t for God truly touching my heart at one point my faith would have been lost after this experience.
