The first time I came to Centenary Methodist in Bonne Terre was about a year and a half ago. I hadn't been to church regularly in several years. My next door neighbor asked me to go with him several times, and I'd found an excuse not to. Finally I gave in because I came to trust him after spending many hours with our dogs playing together. I lived alone and didn't have many opportunities to meet people. Seems like your kids and pets give a lot of people that opportunity. So I attended several times and enjoyed how friendly people were and that there was no pressure to commit to anything. But I don't think I would have become a member if I hadn't started attending a Bible Basics class and a New Members class. I grew up in the church, so was familiar with it's teachings, but this was an opportunity to bond with other people who were searching for a closer connection to Christ. Most of us needed someone to share the experience of being new, and pastor Norton couldn't have been better at making us feel welcome. There's so much going on here, I can't go on at length about it, but I will mention the Cornerstone Cafe where anyone can come for a free home cooked meal every Wednesday night at 5:00. Anyway, I became a member about a year ago, I sing in the choir now, and consider many in this congregation my friends. Please come and see for yourself. God bless you on your search.
