I'm really disappointed in the eulogy Father Gray gave today, which is really a reflection on him and the church. He did apologize and kept admitting how he didn't know much about my father, which he didn't, but that's not an excuse. As in any job, he had time to prepare, to ask people, to learn stories to get to know him to create a proper story as a send away or at least not leave a negative review of someone without knowing them. I get where he was trying to go with his story, but it really was just laziness. Not knowing the name of the person, saying there was a "gap" in pictures, which there was not, instead of seeing love in the pictures shown, the amount of pictures shown and the time to put those together and if he even took the time to watch the slideshow the night before, not to mention keep comparing him to criminals . All the people there today know it was lack of you not "knowing him", but please either find the passion that made you become a priest or find something else you like to do because today was someone who just "showed up" and it is a shame because all the people that showed up today will not want to come back. Thankfully we ending on a good note with good stories, but please for the next funeral put a little more thought into it or decline.
