I visited Danville Baptist Church the first time on May 6th 1973. The pastor at that time was brother Fred Jenkins. He gave the invitation at the end of the message and I almost ran right to him. God open my eyes that day for the first time at age 23, and I could see for the first time. Six months later, I was baptized across the road in a little pond. I can still feel the bait fish swimming around my ankles. I haven't been back in a long time. I still remember some of the fine folks that I met there in 1973. By now I just remember faces more than I remember names. That day in 1973 was the beginning of my life, in my opinion. I have learned more and more to trust Jesus and his precious Eternal Word. Thank you Father for brother Fred Jenkins and Danville Baptist Church. Peace.
