Willowbrook Christian Church is a small church. It is almost half the size of most other churches I have been to in the past. The pastor is very humorous with tons of jokes, mostly about football. One of the biggest advantages of a small church like Willowbrook is that everybody knows each-other like peas and carrots. Every Sunday, I instantly hear "Hey Josh!", "Hi Josh", "Good Morning Josh" when I open the door. All of the different churches I have been to in the past have greeters that stick with the basic introduction each Sunday morning of: "Hello sir, welcome to ____ Church. Service starts in 30 minutes. Here is a bulletin". Unfortunately, small churches do have a couple of disadvantages. Small churches have a lower budget due to less people donating/tithing and no online donations. Therefore, they cannot afford many things larger churches have such as professional recording equipment for online video streaming, high quality microphones that don't need to be fixed, a good piano over $500 with no duct-tape, neat merchandise like bumperstickers and shirts...etc. Yes, Willowbrook is one of those churches. They do give out a mug with candy for first time visitors along with a RightNowMedia subscription, but that doesn't feel like enough for me. A lower budget and less department staff bring the disadvantage of less services and opportunities within the church. I often wish Willowbrook had a larger worship band and a choir with no repetitive songs. After a year, I got too sick of hearing the same two songs over and over again [Good Good Father & Christ Alone]. A second worship team leader would help a lot. I also wish that Willowbrook had a counselor within the church as well as more fellowship groups. There is only one mens group with nobody around my age. All of the other churches have a large variety of fellowship groups for young adults and that it what I really need. If you like a small church where everybody knows you, then I recommend this church. If you are looking for a church similar to The Father's House, Grace Road, and Northridge Church, then look somewhere else. All in all, Willowbrook Christian Church is a friendly place with people who know you well but not a popular growing church with a large chunk of amazing social opportunities.
