WHAT IS Bridge Street CHURCH OF CHRIST We are an independent congregation of believers whose purpose is to be a worshiping, serving body of Christ in this community. We are part of a worldwide fellowship of churches called Christian churches and churches of Christ. Our desire is to restore the New Testament Church in faith and practice. We believe: That the Father is the one true God, Creator of the universe. That Jesus Christ is the one-of-a-kind Son of God, Savior of the world. That God’s Holy Spirit, given to each person at the time of their conversion, is active in the church and endows each Christian with gifts for service. That the Bible is the uniquely inspired and authoritative word of God. That Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, was raised from the dead on the third day, and will come again. That salvation is a gift, given by God’s grace and received through faith, a repentant heart, and our baptism (by immersion) into Christ. That the body of Christ, the Church is the Kingdom of God on earth, empowered by the Holy Spirit; existing to save the lost and edify the saved. This church has as its mission to fulfill the Great Commission of Christ (Matthew 28:18-20) by evangelizing the lost and equipping Christians for service so that the body may grow and mature (Ephesians 4:11-16). Our vision is to be a growing family of believers in Christ, committed to unleashing the power of the Gospel in every person’s life.
