The teaching is on-point. The leadership is not.
If you need to be challenged to be a brother’s keeper, you’ll find that at this church. If you want to attend a church where the pastors and elders are brother’s keepers to each other, find a different church.
If you are unfamiliar with Jesus’ teachings portrayed as “upside down” from the world’s way of doing things, you’ll be thoughtfully challenged. If you take issue with compromising theology to accommodate an “upside down” church where pride begets promotion and mutually veiled sin underwrites the camaraderie of its leaders, you may be frustrated to no end.
I was active in this church for ten years before I realized how deep the disfigurement of grace runs. And even the termination of one of the lead pastors a year ago wasn’t a sufficient catalyst to foster accountability and repentance in the ranks of its leadership.
It’s a bad, bad church. I implore you to find a different church; one where you can worship in spirit and in truth alongside pastors/elders who do the same.
