Our Mission
We are a church for the whole community.
We seek to be a church that serves not only its members and visitors, but also our whole community. We offer our fellowship hall for community meetings, free funeral services, free premarital counseling and wedding officiating, and ministries to our community. Each week we host Narcotics Anonymous on Monday's at 7pm, and a Healthy Living Class on Tuesday's at 5pm. Once a year we host a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service, Ash Wednesday Service, Maundy Thursday Service, and on August 31st an Overdose Awareness Candlelight Service for those we have lost to addiction. We also participate in a multi-denominational cooperative that rotates between us, our sister church Irwin's Chapel, Revival Vision Church of God, and St. Teresa's Catholic Church to host a community worship service.

About Miller's Chapel UMC
Millers Chapel has been worshiping God and serving our community for over 200 years! We are in the third location/building which we have been in since 1967. We practice the Methodist tradition with a traditional worship service. Every 1st Sunday of the month communion will be offered. We have an open table and welcome all who earnestly seek to follow Christ to His table. We embrace the motto: Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors. We live it out in the following ways:
1. Open Hearts - Jesus tells us all of the laws and prophets are built on two principles: Love of God, and loving neighbor as our selves. We strive to love each other by encouraging and supporting other members, and being proactive to show love to all in our community.
2. Open Minds - We seek to be in open fellowship with all people of good will, who seek to come to know God. We understand we will not all understand the scriptures or practice worship exactly the same, but do not want to allow our different understandings to become a source of division, but an opportunity to share different perspectives. Our fellowship has and should always include members of our community who choose to participate in Sunday school and worship who are not members of the Methodist church, and that is ok!
3. Open Doors - All are welcome! There is no litmus test at the door to decide who can enter our worship service or our fellowship. We are all sinners who have fallen short of God's glory, so we do not discriminate against anyone who wants to grow in their relationship with God.
As a visitor, you can expect a warm welcome from our small congregation. Each week a bulletin is prepared with a detailed outline of the worship service so that everyone can easily know what to expect to be able to fully participate in the service.

BELIEFS
Each Sunday we recite our core beliefs that have been handed down for many generations in the Apostle's Creed:
We believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
We believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to hell. The third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
We believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic* church, (the true Christian church of all times and all places)
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
