If I could give this Memorial Baptist Church a zero rating, I would. Let me tell you about my experience today. I was in Denton today with a very scary tornado warning and torrential rain. The alert on my phone told me to take cover immediately. I was frantic and pulled into Memorial Baptist Church because I saw a white car there and the light was on. I pounded on the door in a panic and was met by a dark haired gentlemen. We could both hear the tornado sirens screaming in the neighborhood and I asked if I could come in to take shelter. When he said "No", my heart sunk and I started to cry. he told me that there was no tornado and the tornado wasn't anywhere near. He said that he was leaving. He turned off the lights, shut the door right in front of me and left me standing in the torrential rain. He pulled off and left. I will never understand when a church represents itself as a safe place and all are welcome (according to the marquee sign outside) and they turn you away in an emergency. My prayer is that this man, if he is the pastor of this church, would have a serious talk with Jesus about his heart. I fell sorry for the people in his congregation.
