Two Rivers United Methodist Church – Where God’s river and my river merge
– because it will be located between our two rivers (Scioto & Olentangy)
– because all of us need the flow of water (literal and metaphorical)to keep us alive
– because all of us are looking for a new/refreshing river
– because the river of God is available to everyone
– because the Bible is full of stories and metaphors about rivers and water.
The Bible uses the river as a metaphor of life:
Ezekiel 47:9 …everything will live where the river goes.
The Bible declares God’s promise and plan for all people through the river metaphor:
Jeremiah 17:7-8 "Blessed are those who trust in the LORD and have made the LORD their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.
