Lead Minister Kristin Powell
Rev. Kristin Powell is passionate about Spirit and Nature. Her practices include expressing gratitude to the transcendent allness of God through prayer, communing with the Spirit within through meditation and immersing herself in the Divine body through yoga, outdoor activity and the beauty of nature. Her spiritual path and messages are focused on wholeness and oneness. Rev. Powell moves herself and her audience toward a sense of full soul integration (of masculine and feminine, dark and light, physical, emotional and spiritual) while collectively honoring the diverse expressions that comprise the One.
Rev. Powell teaches foundational Unity classes and contemporary approaches to ancient spiritual teachings using prayer, meditation, visualization, nature and the practice of Council – speaking and listening from the heart. Council contributes to the healing and collaboration that brings human beings back into harmony with their own hearts, one another, earth and Spirit.
Feeling a call to serve the community of Unity of Walnut Creek in 2016, Rev. Powell became the lead minister on Easter Sunday, 2017. She is delighted to serve in such a vibrant, intelligent and heart-centered community and to be based in the Bay Area with abundant access points to stunning and natural diversity.
Ordained a Unity minister in 2002, Rev. Powell founded Unity Rising and Spiritual Travels in Divine Nature, in 2003. She trained with the Sierra Club and School of Lost Borders in wilderness guidance and Council. She leads Unity Rising trips and retreats ranging from seasonal daylong nature immersions to full wilderness fasts and a variety of domestic and international spiritual sojourns. Previously, Rev. Powell served as the supervisor at Silent Unity, the world’s largest international prayer ministry, and then as senior minister at Unity of Columbia in Missouri. Kristin was host of Soulstream on Unity Online Radio from 2013-2016.
