Pastor Mack A. Gadsden, Sr
Pastor of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church of North Charleston, SC since 1986. Attended Public Schools of Charleston County, graduating from Bonds Wilson High School; Trident Technical College and Morris College School Religion. He has further his studies at Interdenominational Theological Center, Atlanta, Georgia. A man of compassion for the need of others. He gives of himself wherever there is a need for food, transportation, clothing, and housing for the homeless. He has provided mentorship for many Charleston County Schools, Jenkins Orphanage, and South Carolina Pre-Release Center. He currently serves as Chairman of Executive Board of the Charleston County Missionary Baptist Association; member of the Baptist Education and Missionary Convention of South Carolina; National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc.; Member – Charleston County and Vicinity Ministerial Alliance; Member- “Clergy-Husband Choir” of the South Carolina Association of Ministers’ Wives & Ministers’ Widows of South Carolina, Inc. Advocate and participate with the Low Country Chapter of Diabetes Foundation and the American Heart Association. He participates yearly in the Walk America to cure Diabetes and is recognized as one of the top fundraisers for research. Reverend Gadsden, a 2006 recipient of the Presidential Citation from Morris College, and a 2008 recipient of the Presidential Citation from Benedict College for his personal yearly financial support and obtaining employer (SCE&G) matching fund for both colleges. Benedict College 2011 major contributor. He recently retired employed from the South Electric and Gas Company (SCANA) after 47 years as a Service Representative.
