Meet The Pastor

Pastor Stephen St. John
Pastor Stephen St. John
I was saved when I was four and a half years old. I didn’t know much but I knew I was a sinner going to hell and didn’t want to go. I knew Jesus Christ died for me so that I didn’t have to go to hell. And I knew that God promised that if I asked Him to save me, He would. So in faith, I asked the Lord Jesus Christ to save me and take away my sin and He did! Since then I have had many failures in my Christian walk and done things I am not proud of. But the Lord had mercy on me and saved me not only from hell, but from the clutches of sin. In 2004, I graduated college with a B.S. in Chemistry. The same year, I married Jenny Harding and went down to Bible school at Pensacola Bible Institute. The Lord blessed me exceedingly with 12 children and a wife who loves me and is devoted to serving the Lord. At P.B.I., I obtained a Bachelor of Divinity and a Master’s of Theology under Dr. Peter S. Ruckman and Brian Donovan. More importantly, at P.B.I the Lord called me to preach while ministering in the Atmore Alabama prison work camp with Brother Art Dawson. The Lord allowed me to work as a Sunday School teacher for both young people and adults in multiple churches from 2007-2018. He also let me help several churches with visitation, street preaching, and filling in when the pastor was out of town or had an opening. In November 2018, the Lord called me to pastor. It was unexpected and I asked Him to make it clear. He did in about 10 different particulars. A need for some Bible teaching and witnessing in the Fredericksburg area became clear and we began our Bible study in April 2019. In November 2019 we began holding Sunday Services as well at our church. I continue to look for the Lord’s leading and His further blessing as we continue doing the work of the ministry. I am thankful to announce that the Lord allowed me to be ordained on December 13th, 2020 under Bro Brian Donovan, Bob Joseph, Alan Ryman and Howard Hunter. It was a blessing to be supported by these men and I look forward to walking worthy of the vocation that God gave me (Ephesians 4:1). It is my desire to have a King James Church that the Lord is happy with. I am not looking to have just another church in the area. There are too many that 1) are King James in name only but not in practice; 2) are not actively engaged in winning souls or 3) refuse to teach and preach Bible doctrine and the whole counsel of God. Our goal is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, to edify the saints, and to evangelize the lost and to try to get something done before the imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ for His saints.
