I grew up in this church. As a child I was scared by extremely graphic accounts of hell and the crucifixion. To the point that I actually passed out during Sunday School once and ran to the bathroom to puke on another occasion. They believe that women are to obey and serve their husbands and take care of their kids. It is frowned upon if you send your kids to public schools. They should be going to a Christian school or being home schooled, preferably with the Bob Jones curriculum. Then once they graduate they pressure them to go to Bob Jones University. I could write a novel about why you shouldn't go to this church, however I hope that this small glimpse into what happens in the children & teen programs will persuade you that you and your family would be better off trying to find a less extreme church. I kept my profile anonymous because of all the harassment that occurred when I left. However, I feel that people should be warned that this isn't your average Baptist church.
