They are rug sweepers who think it's okay for a 9yo to sexually abuse/violate two 6 year old girls in their private parts and call it "child's play". Neither the pastor, the deacons, nor their wives reported the abuse to the authorities. NC is a mandated reporter state. There is no kid or youth ministry nor any real plans for such. The pastor doesn't believe in confidentiality. The pastor thinks violating women's boundaries while alone is okay. The offender and the offender's father are allowed to run meetings with the victim and the victim's mother which is a major conflict of interest. The victims and their families were shunned by the pastor, deacons and their wives instead of the offenders. They allowed a convicted criminal into the nursery. They keep someone on the church roster as a member only because she sends her monthly check in. They question abuse victim's salvation when they come forward with the abuse. They do not hold their pastor and his household to strict biblical standards nor the deacons or their wives. There are deacons who admit to not reading the Bible or knowing Scripture. They tell you to point out other people's sins, but as soon as you point out the sins of the pastor and his household and the deacons and their wives, they will attack you. The pastor does not believe it is his job to minister to children and youth outside of Sunday sermon. The pastor allowed deacons and their wives to verbally, emotionally and spiritually abuse the victims when they came forward with the abuse. The pastor believes healing, conflict resolution and reconcilation include not listening to the victims, justifying, excusing and minimizing the abuse and blaming the victims for the abuse and then skipping to forgiveness which means "never talking about the offenses again". Victims will be told that "it's not like you were forced to masturbate a grown man's penis". The pastor calls his own church not 5 stars and blames it on the slow pace of the deacons, just like he'll blame the present abuse on your past traumas. The pastor lacks personal accountability. They have women in leadership roles calling members drunks, members cussing in God's house, and people in the FLC promoting marijuana use during a memorial service. The leaders and their wives rarely stand to worship God. They are a cult through and through. It's like Word of Faith, but down a notch. They will make you feel like you are not good enough. They refuse to anoint sick members with oil and pray over them. The pastor and deacons do not know how to manage God's House and it shows by their lack of fruits. If you go to the pastor about something you can expect it to go in one ear and out the other. If you go to a female church leader, you can expect her to gossip about you behind your back. The pastor and deacons will twist the truth to fit their lies and narrative. GHBC denies membership to people. God's House never denies anyone membership.
