International Church of the Foursquare Gospel

Foursquare Gospel

The Foursquare Church was founded in1927 during the evangelistic work of Aimee Semple McPherson. It was an outflow of the Azusa St. Revival in the early 1900s which began the Pentecostal movement. Thousands came to her evangelistic meetings at Angelus Temple which she built. The churches has always been active in evangelism, praying for the sick, feeding the poor and advancing the kingdom. The Foursquare symbols point to central themes of Biblical teaching -Jesus as Savior, Healer, Baptizer with the Holy Spirit, and King.
