Yes, your credit card information is secure when you use ChurchFinder.com. When you upgrade your church to ChurchFinder Pro you can be assured that your credit card information is stored at the highest security level.
First, ChurchFinder.com is PCI DSS compliant, indicated by our Trustwave seal.
Second, for additional security for our church customers, we do NOT store any credit card information on our servers. Instead we use top-rated services from Recurly and TSYS for secure data storage, recurring billing and credit card processing. Recurly is PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant and SAS 70 / SSAE 16 compliant. Leading companies including Groupon, Zillow, LinkedIn, and Adobe trust Recurly to store their customer’s credit card information for recurring billing.
My web browser is showing me a message that ChurchFinder.com may not be secure - why?
Some browsers now show messages related to https - also called SSL - and sometimes those messages indicate that a website might not be secure. However, since we are not storing any credit card information on our servers, we are security compliant and we are not required to switch from http to https. Nevertheless, just to avoid any confusion - and for further reassurance for our church customers - in 2017 we are in the process of moving our entire website over to SSL and https.
In the meantime, if you have any concerns at all, please contact Customer Service and we can either take your information over the phone, or send you a secure https link to use to update your credit card information.
We are committed to keeping your information safe and secure!
