Friendly Welcoming God-centered Church

Ascension is a warm friendly Bible based church. If you are looking for a place to call home, Ascension is that place. The people are friendly and welcoming. We have a great Newcomers program. There are three Sunday services, 8:30, 10:30 and 6:30 (soon to be 5:30). There is great music and worship. There are various opportunities to learn and get to know people through home groups, Children and Youth programs, Adult forum, Women's Encouragement group, If you are looking for a new church home this is the place to come and ALL are welcome.

Ascension was our church home for seven years before we moved cities and we now realize and appreciate more the church and its people. It is genuinely welcoming, non judgemental, and generous of heart. This church and Fr. Jim are the reasons I found my way back to Jesus. Our first service [10:30am] was surprising by combining the traditional service with the praise music and we quickly came to love the combination and the connection it made with us, including our 2 young girls. [I was raised Catholic and my husband, Episcopalian] The church's initial welcoming spirit with new member orientation washed away any anxiety; the newcomers dinner allowed us time to connect with everyone; and Ascension 101 connected the dots for my questions. The sermons connected with me: able to connect the bible with our current life and made me want to learn more. For the first time, I was looking forward to church, the teachings, how to apply it to my life, and feeling closer to God. I took notes in church! It was easy for my whole family to be involved with the little extra time we thought we had to give. I intentionally taught Sunday school to equip me to be able to talk to our girls about the bible stories and learn them again myself. We found life-long friends at Ascension, which makes it that much harder to go. Now trying to find a new church in our new city, we find ourselves comparing everything to Ascension and know just how special it is.

The Church of the Ascension is by far the best church I have ever attended. The congragation is very friendly and accepting to everyone no matter what your background. i first attended there in 2008 when I was unbaptized and had no church to call mine. i was quickly welcomed and when I asked for a meeting with Fr. Jim he saw me the very next day. We talked in his office and I knew I had found the place for me. On Easter of that year I was Baptized and a few months later confirmed into the church. I have attended church every week starting in 1989 and have learned more about what Faith really means at Ascension then in the 20 previous years
Come an join us I am very confident you will never leave

The Goodness of the Lord at Ascension

"Taste and see, taste and see the goodness of the Lord, oh taste and see taste and see the goodness of the Lord, of the Lord". I was glad when they said unto me let us go to the house of the Lord. That is the way how I feel when I attend Ascension. Pay us a visit and feel that goodness of the Lord.
