Our Mission

The heartbeat and mission of Hosanna Chapel is that you will come to: know Jesus Grow in your relationship with Jesus Show the love of Jesus Go out and share Jesus Know: We acknowledge that the only way to God is through a right relationship with Jesus Christ. Everything we do as a church family is out of a desire to honor the Father, through the power of the Holy Spirit, so that everyone may know the gospel of Jesus Christ. Grow: Because it is our desire that you cultivate a deeper understanding of Jesus Christ, and grow in your relationship with Him, we teach through the Bible, verse-by verse, chapter-by-chapter, book-by-book (Acts 20:27). Why? If every word of God is pure and true (Psalm 12:6;19:9;119:140), then every word deserves to be examined and understood. We believe that every verse is God inspired, inerrant, infallible and is important for all areas of our lives (2 Tim 3:16). We teach the Bible emphasizing an eternal viewpoint and not just as a pursuit of knowledge. We seek to grow in our relationship with God as we read, study and understand His word through the power of the Holy Spirit. Show: Jesus had compassion on the multitude and hungry (Mark 8:2-3, Matt 16:32). Antelope Valley is saturated with unbelievers who are hungry spiritually and physically. It is an awesome opportunity to show the love of Jesus. The harvest in Antelope Valley is plentiful, but “the laborers are few.” We are praying “the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into the harvest” (Luke 10:1-2). Go: We have a passion to Evangelize the Lost — To passionately share the gospel of Jesus Christ in order to bring glory to God and establish worshipers in His church locally and globally (Acts 1:8). It's our conviction we must learn to live now with the perspective that will be ours one minute after we die. As there will be no second chance for the unbeliever to go back and live his life over again, this time accepting Christ, so there will be no second chance for the believer to go back and live his life over again, this time serving Christ. Now is our window of opportunity. Now is our chance to follow Christ, speak the truth and reach out to the needy in love. Now is our chance to invest our lives in eternity.

BELIEFS

THE BIBLE We believe that the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the Word of God, fully inspired without error and the infallible rule of faith and practice. The Word of God is the foundation upon which the church operates and is the basis for which the church is governed. We believe that the Word of God supersedes any earthly law that is contrary to the Holy Scriptures. (Isaiah 28:13; Nehemiah 8:8; John 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Hebrews 4:12; 1 Peter 1:23-25; 2 Peter 1:3-4 and 1:21). GOD We believe that there is one living and true GOD, eternally existing in three persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, equal in power and glory; that this triune God created all, upholds all, and governs all things. (Genesis 1:1; Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 44:8 and 48:16; Matthew 28:19-20; John 10:30; Hebrews 1:3). We believe in the person of God the Father, an infinite, eternal, personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love; that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men; that He hears and answers prayer; and that He saves from sin and death all those who come to Him through Jesus Christ. (Deuteronomy 33:27; Psalms 90:2; Psalms 102:27; John 3:16 and 4:24; 1 Timothy 1:17; Titus 1:3). JESUS CHRIST We believe the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man, without ceasing to be God, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. Christ came in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful man. He accomplished our redemption through his death on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice. Our redemption is made sure to us by his literal physical resurrection from the dead (John 1:1-2, 14; Luke 1:35; Rom. 3:24-25; 4:25; I Pet. 1:3-5). We believe the Lord Jesus Christ is now in heaven, exalted at the right hand of God, where as the High Priest for his people, he fulfills the ministry of Representative, Intercessor and Advocate (Heb. 9:24; 7:25; Rom. 8:34;1 John 2:1-2). HOLY SPIRIT We believe the Holy Spirit is a divine person of the same nature as God the Father and the Son. He was active in the creation, he convicts men of sin, he restrains the evil one until God's purpose is fulfilled. He is the supernatural agent in regeneration, baptizing all believers into the body of Christ, indwelling and sealing them unto the day of redemption. We believe the Holy Spirit is the divine Teacher who guides believers into all truth. We believe in the Baptism with the Holy Spirit as a distinct and separate experience to that of regeneration, occurring, either subsequent to or simultaneous with salvation, evidenced by a greater dynamic in the Christian’s life enabling that person to be a bold and more effective witness. The supreme evidence of the Spirit filled life is the fruit of the Spirit, love. We believe in the present day ministry of the Holy Spirit in regard to the exercise of all biblical gifts of the Holy Spirit according to the instructions given to us in 1 Corinthians Chapters 12 through 14. SALVATION We believe that all people are sinners by nature and choice, falling short of God’s standard and breaking His commandments – and therefore are under God’s righteous judgment. Yet God saves and gives new life to all who come to Him in repentance and faith, trusting in the Person and work of Jesus Christ. At the cross, Jesus Christ died in our place as our substitute, absorbing God’s wrath that should have come upon us. Because Jesus died for the sins of the world the invitation to believe is open to all, and whoever desires may come unto Jesus for new life and the forgiveness of sins. (Romans 3:23, Acts 3:19, Acts 20:21, Ephesians 2:1-3, Ephesians 2:8-9, 1 John 2:2, John 3:16, Matthew 11:28, Revelation 22:17). Believers can know they are saved and kept by God's power and are thus secure in Christ (John 10:28-29; Rom. 8:31-39; I John 5:13). It is the privilege of believers to rejoice in the assurance of their salvation, but the Word clearly teaches the incompatibility of professing faith while living in sin (1 John 3:9), and forbids any spiritual presumption that minimizes the importance of the holy works God has called us to do (Eph. 2:8-10). REPENTANCE & FAITH One cannot truly believe unless he repents, and one cannot truly repent unless he believes. Repentance and faith are two sides of the same coin (but they are not synonymous terms). Anytime the Bible explicitly mentions one, in the context of God’s saving grace, the other is at least implied. This response of repentance and faith in Christ must be willingly exercised if a sinner would ever escape God’s judgment and enter the kingdom of heaven. Nevertheless, repentance and faith are gifts from God, supplied by the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit; and are therefore, not contrary to, but consistent with salvation by grace. The Spirit of God discloses the beauty of God as it is revealed in the Scriptures and creates a deep awareness of personal sin in the heart of the sinner. (Matthew 4:17, Mark 1:15, Luke 13:3, 5, 24:47; Acts 2:37-38, 3:18-19, 5:31, 11:-17-18, 14:27, 15:9, 16:14, 16: 31; John 6:44, 6:65, Ephesians 2:8-9, 2 Timothy 2:25, Philippians 1:29, Acts 20:21). THE CHURCH We believe that all who put their faith in Jesus Christ are immediately placed by the Holy Spirit into one united spiritual Body (1 Corinthians 12:12-13), the church/Bride of Christ (2 Corinthians 11:2; Ephesians 5:23-32; Revelation 19:7-8), of which Christ is the head ( Ephesians 1:22; Ephesians 4:15; Colossians 1:18). The purpose of the church is to glorify God (Ephesians 3:21) by building its members up in the faith (Ephesians 4:13-16), by instruction of the Word (2 Timothy 2:2, 15:2; 2 Tim 3:16-17), by fellowship (Acts 2:47; 1 John 1:3), by keeping the ordinances of the water baptism and the Lord's supper (Luke 22:19; Acts 2:38-42), and by advancing and communicating the Gospel to the entire world (Matthew 28:19; Acts 1:8). The formation of the church, the Body of Christ, began on the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2:1-21; 38-47) and will be completed at the coming of Christ for His own at the rapture (1Corinthians 15:51-52; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18). HEAVEN AND HELL We believe in a literal Heaven and a literal Hell and that all those who place their faith, hope and trust in Jesus Christ will spend eternity in Heaven with the Lord, while those who reject Jesus’ free gift of salvation will spend eternity separated from the Lord. (Psalm 9:17; Matthew 5:3, 5:22, 18:9 and 25:31-34; Mark 9:42-49; Luke 12:5; John 3:18; Hebrews 12:23; 1 Peter 1:4; Revelation 14:10-11 and 20:11-15). SECOND COMING We believe in the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, which is His personal, visible return to earth and the establishment of His millennial kingdom, in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment and eternal blessing of the righteous and endless separation of the wicked. (Matthew 16:27; Acts 1:11; Revelation 19:11-16, 20:11-15) We believe in the Pre-Tribulation Rapture of the Church where all believers will meet the Lord in the air and be taken out of this world prior to the Tribulation that will come upon the earth. (Isaiah 26:20; Matthew 24:29-31; Luke 21:36; Romans 1:18, 5:9; 1 Thessalonians 1:10, 4:13-16 and 5:9; 2 Peter 2:7-9; Revelation 3:10, 5:7-10 and 7:13-14). MARRIAGE We believe that God created man and that He created them male and female. As such He created them different so as to complement and complete each other. God instituted monogamous marriage between male and female as the foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society. Therefore, we perform marriages in accordance with the Bible consistent with the Old and New Testament. (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4-6; John 4:16-18; Romans 1:18-32; I Corinthians 5:11, 6:9-11, 6:18-20, 7:1-3 and 7:8-9; Galatians 5:19-21; Ephesians 5:3-7; 1 Timothy 1:9-11). THE RESPONSIBILITY OF BELIEVERS We believe Christians should live not in light of the moment, but in light of eternity, realizing that things are often not what they appear and that the true treasures are those which will last for eternity (2 Cor. 4:18; Matt. 6:19-25). We should all seek to walk in such a manner as not to bring reproach upon our Lord and Savior, who commands separation from sinful practices (Romans 12:1-2; 14: 2 Cor. 6:14; 7:1). It is the obligation of every believer to witness by deed and by word to the truths of Holy Scriptures and to seek to proclaim the Gospel to all the world (Acts 1:8). It is the responsibility of all believers to remember the work of the Lord in prayer and to support it with their assets of time, gifting and money (1 Cor. 16:2). Believers in Christ should be the first to reach out to the poor and needy, and to defend the defenseless in the name of and for the sake of our Lord (Psalm 82:2-4; Prov 31:8-9; Matt.25:31-46).
