The people of First UMC Middletown are devoted to bringing God's eternal love to life through our faith - in our everyday lives, in our worship and fellowship, in ministries in our community and throughout the world. We are thinking, feeling, and acting people of faith, very much part of this world, but set aside by God for a greater purpose. Worship, prayer, bible studies, fellowship, and local and global missions are all essential for us to grow in faith, as we serve God and the world in the Holy Spirit.
We believe that faith is meant to change lives here and now. God gives us saving love in Christ that we may become healed and growing people helping the world to heal and to grow. Our passion for growing faith from within prepares us to be empowered servants of God.
We are dedicated to the principles of Methodism, a perspective on faith that emphasizes God’s offering salvation to everyone – not just a few – through faith in Jesus Christ, a dynamic relationship with God that is rooted in the Bible, affirmed by our traditions, enlivened by our experiences, and tested by human reason.
