Meet The Pastor
Douglas C Wahlberg
Working at Faith Lutheran Church in Lehigh Acres since January 2016, Pastor Jhon Freddy Correa is a pastor (re) developer and mission developer of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). He is a previous Vice-President of the Association of Hispanic Ministries of the ELCA, which serves the United States, including Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.
Pastor Jhon has been called to lead the team that is building up the existing English-speaking congregation and starting up a LatinX congregation/ministry. He is interested in developing/forming a healthy congregation - with an emphasis on children, youth and families. At Faith, we are in the process of exploring the reality of being a multicultural congregation in a multicultural country. Pastor Jhon believes we can lead the way and become a nationwide example for bringing new life to the Lutheran Church in America.
Pr. Jhon has been uniquely blessed by being formed by three different Christian denominations (Roman Catholic, Old [Orthodox] Catholic, and Lutheran). He also served in the city of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin for two years as a priest in the Old Catholic Church in America.
Jhon loves spending time with his wife (Liliana) and son (Mateo). He enjoys a day at the beach, listening to all kinds of music, and reading about Pedagogy, Multiculturalism, History, Leadership Skills, Psychology, Liberation Theology, Acculturation, and Multicultural Life. Pr. Jhon considers himself to be a powerful leader, and he loves to work with people who have claimed their power to transform communities into better places for all.
