Meet The Pastor

Pastor Adam Penn
Pastor Adam Penn has been serving Pocahontas UMC since July of 2015. He grew up in the Peoria, IL area, where he met his wife Jessica his senior year of high school. They married in 2011, and Jessica worked as a sign language interpreter while Adam was finishing his undergraduate studies at Illinois State University. They then moved to Dubuque, IA, where Adam graduated in May 2015 from the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary with his Master's in Divinity. Adam and Jessica's son Levi was born in December 2015, shortly after they moved to Pocahontas. Pastor Adam has a heart for teaching and preaching scriptural truth, growing disciples, and helping churches faithfully live into who God has called them to be in their context. In his spare time, Adam enjoys spending time with his family, biking the Madison County Trail System, water skiing, and making music in his home recording studio. He and Jessica are also in a band called Harbor at Sea, whose "Better Things" EP is available on iTunes and Spotify.
