BELIEFS
Man. Man is made in the image of God. He is the supreme object of God’s creation. Although God designed man to have relationship with him, man alienated himself from God through disobedience.As a result, all human beings are born with a sinful nature. Man is incapable of a right relationship with God through his OWN efforts. (Genesis 1:27, Psalm 8:3-6, Isaiah 53:6, Romans 3:23, Colossians 1:21, Isaiah 59:1-2)
The Bible. The Bible is the Word of God. It was written by human authors, but inspired by God, and is infallible. It is the book that contains the Old & New Testament; its authority is final. It cannot be added to or subtracted from. It is the source of all doctrine, instruction, correction & reproof. It contains everything a human being would need to live a thriving Christian LIFE.
Jesus Christ. Jesus is the SON of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary and lived a human life. He NEVER sinned. He offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of ALL men by dying on a cross. He rose from the dead on the 3rd day demonstrating HIS power over SIN & death. He then ascended into heaven and WILL return again to reign as the KING of KINGS andLORD of LORDS. The Church. The church is God’s design for community. It consists of those who believe in Jesus and those who are seeking to find Jesus. The local church is a vehicle used by God to work in the earth through bible teaching, encouraging and equipping those who have made a commitment to follow Christ, and to help or rescue those who do not yet know HIM. It is a place designed for corporate worship, prayer, and spiritual growth.
Salvation. Salvation is a FREE GIFT from GOD to man. Man can NEVER make up for his own sin byself-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can man be saved from sin’s penalty. Eternal LIFE begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.(Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-9, John 14:6, 1:12, Titus 3:5, Galatians 3:26, Romans 5:1
Baptism. Baptism is an outward sign of what God has already done in an individual’s life and is a testimony to ALL that a person now belongs to Jesus. It is the Public Confession of an inward faith.This is done in the name of the Father, the Son, & the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is a person. He is equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in this current world to make men aware of their need for the Lord Jesus Christ. He also lives in every believer from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with the understanding of spiritual truths, and guidance for doing what is right. The baptism of the Holy Spirit empowers the believer, and is evident by the fruits and gifts. We believe that all of the gifts of the Holy Spirit mentioned in I Corinthians 12 are available and operational in the body of Christ today.
Communion. Communion is a commemoration of the death of the Lord and is done in remembrance of HIM until HE comes again. It is a time to remember the broken body of Jesus and the blood that was shed on our behalf.
Eternity. Man can CHOOSE where he will spend eternity. He will either exist separated from God by sin, or he will LIVE in right relationship with God through forgiveness & salvation. When you die, you will either spend eternity in HEAVEN or HELL. Eternal separation in Hell or Eternal Union with God in Heaven.
Final Judgment & Reward. We believe that every human being will stand before God and give an account for the stewardship of their lives. The final judgment will determine the eternal status of both the believer and unbeliever, depending on their relationship with or without Christ.
God. God is the creator and sovereign ruler of the universe. He is made up of 3 persons: the Father,the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three persons are co-equal and are ONE.(Genesis 1:1, 26,27,3:22, Psalm 90:2, Matthew 28:19, I Peter 1:2, II Corinthians 13:14)
