Our Mission
We believe:
The whole Bible is the inspired Word of God. Since God’s truth doesn’t change with cultural preferences, it alone is our ultimate authority for what we believe and how we seek to live our lives.
There is only One God, the Creator of all things. In the Bible He reveals Himself as the Holy Trinity, one real and personal God Who eternally exists in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
All humanity is born in sin, that is, in rebellion against the One True God. Because of this we are under His wrath and curse, rather than having a blessed relationship with Him.
The good news, that in His mercy and love for us, God the Father sent Jesus Christ, His Son, into the world to save sinners by reconciling them to the Father. This Jesus did by taking God’s wrath for our sins on the cross, and giving His righteousness to us in its place. This He offers to anyone who believes in Him alone for salvation.
The Holy Spirit dwells in every believer, working faith in their hearts and continuing His work of holiness within them. This growth in holiness is a progressive one that continues throughout life, never complete until we reach eternity.
King Jesus will return one day, raising the dead and sitting as Judge over all who have lived, giving them either eternal joy in the New Heavens and New Earth, or eternal punishment for their rebellion in Hell.

BELIEFS
CONFESSION OF FAITH
OF CHRIST C HURCH OF F RANKLIN C OUNTY
We believe the Bible to be the only inerrant Word of God. It is our only ultimate and
infallible authority for faith and practice.
We believe that humanity’s highest purpose is to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever.
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three Persons; Father, Son and
Holy Spirit. The Lord God is omnipotent; He is the Almighty. He is omnipresent, entirely
present throughout all creation while not limited by it. He is omniscient, with nothing at all
hidden from His sight, whether past, present, or future. In all things He is limited by
nothing other than His own nature and character.
We believe that the God we serve is holy, righteous, good, just, loving, and full of mercy.
He created the heavens and earth, and everything in them, in the space of six ordinary
days, and all very good. He is the Creator, Sustainer, and Governor of everything that has
been made.
We believe in the true deity and full humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth,
in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed
blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in
His personal return in power and glory.
We believe in the full deity of the Holy Spirit, acknowledging Him together with the
Father and the Son in the works of creation and redemption.
We believe that men and women were created intentionally by God to be His image
bearers.
We believe that because of Adam's sin all humankind is in rebellion against God. For the
salvation of such lost and sinful image-bearers, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is
absolutely necessary.
We believe that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone, and that faith without
works is dead.
We believe that all those who are savingly justified by grace, are also adopted into the
household of God, by which they enjoy all the liberties and privileges of the children of
God, have His name put upon them, have access to His Throne of Grace with boldness,
are enabled to cry, Abba, Father, are pitied, protected, provided for, and chastened by
Him, as by a father: yet never cast off, but sealed to the day of redemption; and inherit
the promises, as heirs of everlasting salvation.
We believe that while the Moral Law of God, as summarised in the 10 Commandments,
has no power to condemn those who have been saved by the grace of Christ, it is of
great use to them as the rule of life in the Kingdom of Christ. As such it informs us of the
will of God, and directs and binds us to walk in it as our duty of gratitude to our Savior. In
the Law, God reveals to the believer the sinfulness of our hearts and lives, and calls us to
humble repentance and grateful obedience.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is
enabled to live a godly life.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the only King and Head of the church, which is made up
of those throughout the world who profess the true religion and their children, over which
Christ reigns through His Word, the Bible. We believe that the purest congregations
under heaven are prone to both inconsistency and error; and some have so fallen as to
be no real churches of Christ at all. Nevertheless, there shall always be a church on earth,
to worship God according to His will.
We believe the primary means God uses to convince and convert sinners, and build
converts up in holiness and comfort, are His Word read and preached, prayer, and the
Sacraments of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. The sacraments are holy signs and seals
of the covenant of grace, instituted by Christ. They represent Christ and His benefits to
believers, put a visible difference between those who belong to the church and the rest
of the world, and solemnly engage them to the service of God in Christ, according to His
Word.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and lost; those who are saved to the
resurrection of life, and those who are lost to the resurrection of damnation. We believe
in the spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
