Meet The Pastor

Reverend Carrie Yearick
Rev. Carrie Yearick (known as “Pastor Carrie”) has been in ministry for 30 years in various ministry contexts and positions. "Building" and "vision casting" are leadership strengths that she enjoys and employs often. She loves the excitement and challenge of building vibrant relationships with God and with others, as well as building transformative programs and worship experiences that energize the spirit and build authentic community. Her work with youth and young adults is extensive and her caring and compassion for the more "seasoned" in life have impacted many.
Carrie received her Master's of Divinity and her Master's of Theology (pastoral psychology and preaching) from Duke Divinity School and her undergraduate degree is from Wingate University where she majored in Human Services and Psychology.
She enjoys baking (she worked her way through Divinity School as a cake decorator) playing and watching volleyball, scrapbooking and all things creative. She is from a Big family (7 kids!), spends time building up the next generation of nieces and nephews, and is known as "Favorite Aunt Carrie" (but she says not to tell her other sisters that!)
For Carrie, life begins, is sustained, and ends with God. As she continues to respond to and experience the presence of God in her life, she has become more aware how this Sovereign God continues to create, redeem and save.
She believes that the church is called into being by God and is founded on Jesus Christ. She believes we are called to be a community of faith: that provides opportunities for the joyful worship of God, that helps people discover and use their gifts and talents, that engages in service to others, and that creates an atmosphere of love and support, all through the joys and sorrows of life.
