That all may encounter and be transformed by the power and presence of God.
In January, the Life Stream Board and Staff came together for Vision Weekend. Our goal was to
prayerfully discern together the Lord’s Mission for Life Stream Church. We celebrated our church’s
rich heritage and legacy in this community, testified to how God was moving among us in the
moment, and turned our hearts and souls to the Lord in worship and prayer. As the weekend
progressed, we sensed the Lord’s Power and Presence among us, and on Saturday afternoon, our
mission became crystal clear.
That all may encounter and be transformed by the power and presence of God.
Through the Old and New Testament, we read the stories of those who had profound spiritual
ENCOUNTERS with the Lord that left them forever changed. From the moment we place our faith in
Jesus we come into intimate relationship with the Living God (John 14:6), and through the Holy
Spirit can experience the full presence and power of God (Eph 3:19). We are all invited into the very
throne room of God through our faith in Jesus (Isa 6:1-8), and “...with unveiled faces...” behold the
glory of God (2 Cor 3:18). When a person truly ENCOUNTERS the Lord they are never the same, for
through ENCOUNTER comes TRANSFORMATION...
That all may encounter and be transformed by the power and presence of God.
Flowing from true ENCOUNTER with God comes TRANSFORMATION. The scriptures record that in Christ we become new creations (2 Cor 5:17), and that through the Spirit we are being TRANSFORMED into the image of Jesus (2 Cor 3:18). We are told in the scriptures that the same POWER that raised Jesus from the dead is at work in us (Eph 1:19-20), and that His PRESENCE in us brings about a Spirit Filled life of Holiness and Freedom (Gal 5:12-26). We have been called to be TRANSFORMED and not conformed to the world (Rom 12:2), we are therefore Christ’s ambassadors of Grace in a world that is lost in darkness (2 Cor 5:20-21; Eph 2:1-10). Through Jesus, we are the light of the world (Matt 5:14), and through us, Jesus is making His appeal to the world, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me...rivers of living water will flow from
within them.” (John 7:37-38).
Life Stream Church is a place of true Spiritual ENCOUNTER, and true Spiritual TRANSFORMATION, a place where God’s POWER and PRESENCE isn’t just talked about, but experienced. In the pages to come, you will read about how all generations at Life Stream are truly ENCOUNTERING and being TRANSFORMED by God’s POWER and PRESENCE. You will also read about how our community and world is being impacted by the POWER and PRESENCE of God through Life Stream. As you read these pages, my prayer is that your hearts will fill with great faith and gratitude to how God has been moving in and through Life Stream in this last year, trusting that He has far exceedingly more for us in the seasons to come (Eph 3:20-21)! Church, let us run the race of faith, fixing our eyes on Jesus (Heb 12:1-2)! Let the door of Life Stream swing wide so That all may ENCOUNTER and be TRANSFORMED by the POWER and PRESENCE of God!
