Meet The Pastor

Pastor Jim Mong
Jim was raised in the suburbs of Detroit. By God’s grace, his parents modeled a genuine faith in Jesus Christ and were active in their church in Wyandotte, MI, serving as youth leaders for many years. From an early age, Jim trusted in Christ. He was educated at Northland International University (B.A.), Reformed Theological Seminary, and graduated from Knox Theological Seminary (M.Div.) in 2006. Currently, he is pursuing a Ph.D. in Biblical Counseling at Southern Seminary and is hoping to graduate in 2017. After seminary, Jim was on staff at Coconut Creek Baptist Church in the Fort Lauderdale, FL area for a year and a half. For the past 7 years, Jim has been a pastor at Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Ada, MI. Jim has been married to Susannah for 12 years and has 6 children, Selina (9), Ryle (7), Shea (6), Kean (4), Eliana (2), and Dane (9 mos). Jim came to plant Redeemer Ann Arbor in August 2015, and he is excited about the opportunity to help spread the welcoming love of God to the people of Ann Arbor.
Looking for Jim when he’s not on duty? You’ll probably find him watching UM football, playing basketball, coaching kids’ soccer, reading, or working outside.
