Meet The Pastor

Bishop xxxxxxxxxxx
John Dinaso is the founding pastor of Mercy Baptist Church in Leesburg, FL. This is the second church plant, the first being in Bellevue, MI, in which Pastor has had the honor of developing over the course of the past few years for the glory of God's kingdom. In actuality, Pastor came back to start a church up in his home state in order to give back the positive return of their investment in him as a child. Also, at MBI, we seek to bring people into a more personal and intimate relationship with Jesus Christ that not only transforms their lives but will transform the lives of others in our city. Growing up, Pastor sensed a calling to ministry by the age of 17. As a young man he attended King High School where he was a student in the Gifted and Talented Education program (GATE), and studied biology at Bethune-Cookman University. Throughout his teenage years he was active in athletic programs such as basketball, volleyball as well as football. Later in life and after completing his social services degree at Cornerstone University, Pastor transferred to Moody Bible Institute to attain his D.Div (Doctorate of Divinity).
Family Orientation: Pastor and his wife Candy were married on August 18th of 2013 and began their first pastorate together at MBC. The Lord has blessed them with many loving years and a son on September 1st, 2016. Although Pastor loves hunting and fishing; preaching and teaching the Word of God is his true passion. Preaching through books of the Bible exegetically is a thrill to him as the Bible comes alive and answers contemporary questions. Also, he has a great passion to reach other people for Christ and uses other activities to create, and cultivate personal relationships for the spread of the gospel.
Pastor's Favorite Quote: Let no man dream that a sudden crotchet has entered our head, and that we have written in hot haste: we have waited long, perhaps too long, and have been slow to speak. Neither let anyone suppose that we build up our statements upon a few isolated facts. We have had no motive but the general progress of the cause of truth, and the glory of God. (C.H.S.)
