Meet The Pastor

Pastor Tim Mullins
My name is Timothy Mullins and I’m the Senior Pastor here at Mount Hope Community Church. Here’s a little information about myself. I’ve been married to my wonderful wife Leina Mullins for over 10 years now. We have 3 beautiful kids. Their names are Caleb , Seth, and Grace. I enjoy taking my kids out for short hikes in the woods as we look for snakes, frogs and anything else that moves…ha-ha. I like adventure and staying active. I enjoy 4 wheelers, boats, jet skis, and basically anything that has a motor in it. Being a Pastor is my main priority and objective but I also own and operate my own business. I buy and sell real estate and have rental properties throughout the Jackson area. I run my business but only after I’m finished with all church priorities. I’m also part owner of Mullins Roofing, a company I started years ago. I play the piano and drums and I love to have “jam sessions” with anyone that plays an instrument. Music has been a great way for me to be involved in church but music alone was not all that God was calling me to. I successfully pursued credentials to become a pastor through the Assembly of God. I’ve studied through Berean University, and I graduated at Mount Hope Bible Training Institute. So…how did I come to the Lord? I was raised in church and I had a good upbringing. I’m thankful for my parents who passed down their Christian beliefs to me. However, during my High school years, I began to fade away from my Christian upbringing. I started partying, gambling, smoking, and doing a lot of other things my Mom would not have approved of. I started to realize that doing things my own way made me broke, depressed, angry, and frustrated about where I was in life. I didn’t know which way to turn. I knew I needed to do something about where I was in life and what I was doing. I needed to go back to the Christian foundation that I learned from my youth. I decided to go to Mount Hope Church in Lansing, Michigan, and I’m glad I did. The Pastor was talking about so called “Religious” people who wouldn’t necessarily make it to heaven because of their religion. That only people who have been born again and have realized there is no way to heaven accept through Christ. He mentioned that it didn’t matter if you had a good upbringing or you were a good person trying to do good things, or if you were a bad person trying to do good to make up for all the bad thing you’ve done. What he explained was that the only thing that mattered was that Christ paid for the sins of the world and it was up to me to either accept Him and begin a new life, or reject Him and go my own way. They had an altar call where they asked everyone who wanted Christ to be lord and savior to come down to the front for prayer. My heart started pounding and I knew It was for me so I went down to the altar, gave my heart to Christ and cried like a baby during my prayer. That was the beginning of my new life in Christ. He has done so much for me, in me, with me and through me. I’m very thankful of the life I now live in Him .
