About United Bible Fellowship

Here at United Bible Fellowship, we are excited about the unique place God has called us to as a local fellowship within the larger Body of Christ. We place an enduring emphasis on verse-by-verse Bible teaching with a strong leaning toward personal and relevant application. As we reach up to God in Spirit-led worship and receive the empowerment that only He can give, we are equipped to connect within our fellowship and beyond the doors of our assembly to the ends of the earth. Our Sunday service has a casual atmosphere with contemporary WORSHIP, verse-by-verse TEACHING, and a safe, nurturing environment for KIDS. In addition, we meet every Wednesday evening for worship, Bible study, and prayer. We invite you to join us, and welcome you to discover the unsurpassed and overwhelming love of Jesus. We pray that you will respond to his invitation to extravagant grace and abundant life.

BELIEFS

Bible We believe that the Scriptures, which consist of the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, are the fully inspired Word of God without error in the original manuscripts, and the infallible rule of faith and practice. Through it God offers enough knowledge of himself and his ways that we might understand our sin, his eternal plan for our salvation and his purpose for our lives. The Word of God is the foundation upon which the church operates, and the basis by which the church is governed. We believe that the 66 books of the Bible supersede any and all earthly law in precept and principle (Isaiah 28:13;1 corinthians 2:13;deuteronomy 29:29;john 10:35;Nehemiah 8:8; John 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:5-17; Hebrews 4:12; 1 Peter 1:23-25; 2 Peter 1:3-5 and 1:21). Trinity We believe that there is one living and true GOD, eternally existing in three persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, equal in power and glory. We believe that the Trinity created all, upholds all, and governs all things (Genesis 1:1;Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 44:8 and 48:16; Matthew 28:19-20;luke 3:22; John 4:24 and 10:30;1 corinthians 8:4; 2 corinthians 13:14; colossians 1:16-17; Hebrews 1:3). God the Father We believe in the person of God the Father—an infinite, living, eternal, personal Spirit—perfect in his goodness, always fair and just and loving in all his attributes. he desires an intimate, personal relationship with all mankind. We believe He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, hears and answers prayer, and saves from sin and death all those who come to Him through faith in Jesus Christ. He has redeemed those who are in Christ and has made them sons and joint heirs with Christ (Deuteronomy 33:27; Psalms 90:2; Psalms 102:27; John 3:16 and 4:24;galatians 4:6-7;ephesians 2:18; 1 Timothy 1:17;Titus 1:3;1 john 3:1). God the Son, Jesus Christ We believe Jesus Christ has always existed eternally as God and in his time, took the form of a man to walk among us. He is true God and true man, fully divine and also fully human. This incarnation was accomplished as he was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary as a baby. He lived a perfect life and died in our place to pay our penalty of death for our sins. We believe that he arose bodily from the grave on the third day and ascended to his Father in heaven as the glorified High Priest and Advocate, and that he will return again to set up his kingdom. He is the world’s Savior and is Lord of all (Isaiah 7:14; Micah 5:2; Matthew 1:18-25 and 24:30-31; Mark 16:19; Luke 1:34-35 and 24:36-43; John 1:1-2,14, 8:58, 11:25 and 14:3; acts 1:11 and 4:12; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 11 corinthians 5:21; philippians 2:5-11; 1 Timothy 2:6, 3:16; Hebrews 1:8 and 4:14-16; 1 thessalonians 4:14-17; 1 peter 2:22; 1 John 1:2; Revelation 1:8). God the Holy Spirit We believe in the person of the Holy Spirit—that He proceeds forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment; to regenerate and indwell those who trust in Christ, to baptize all believers of this age into the body of Christ, to seal them for the final day of redemption, to guide them for witness and service. We believe that he gives spiritual gifts to believers for the full ministry of the body of Christ, which is the church. (Acts 1:8; 2 Corinthians 3:18; John 16:8-11; Romans 8:26 and 15:13,16; Hebrews 9:14). We believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Jesus Christ and functions as their abiding helper, teacher, and guide (John 6:13, 14:16-17 and 16:8-11; Romans 8:26). We believe that the supreme evidence of the Spirit-filled life is the fruit of the Spirit, and love (Galatians 5:33-23, 1 Corinthians 13). We believe in and advocate the present-day ministry of the Holy Spirit in the church regarding the exercise of all biblical gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to the instructions outlined in 1 Corinthians 12-14. Humanity We believe mankind was originally created by a definite act of god in the likeness of his own image and is dependent upon and accountable to God as his creator. Through the disobedience of the first man, Adam, the whole human race inherited a sin nature, evident in each of us through our sinful thoughts, words, and deeds which carry the penalty of physical and spiritual death. Each of us therefore stands guilty before God, unable to save ourselves or to present works or deeds able to gain God’s forgiveness (genesis 1:1-28 and 2:27; matthew 5:20-48; john 3:3-5, 36; romans 2:6-16, 5:12-21 and 6:23). Gospel We believe the gospel: the good news that God forgives, regenerates, and saves all who come to Him through faith in the biblical gospel. This is possible because, though all humans are guilty, Jesus Christ died on the cross in our place for our sins absorbing God's wrath on our behalf. In so doing God is able to forgive the spiritual crimes of people without violating the demands of justice. God now offers an invitation to every sinner to believe in the gospel for reconciliation with God. We believe Jesus will ultimately renew the entire cosmos in the new heaven and earth, and that all who believe the gospel will rule and reign with Him in His kingdom (Romans 3:23, Acts 3:19, Acts 20:21, Ephesians 2:1-3, Ephesians 2:8-9, 1 John 2:2,John 3:16, Matthew 11:28, Revelation 22:17). Christian Life Through the help of the Holy Spirit, we believe God expects every believer to live a life of faith and obedience, where every area of our lives is subject to His will so that the fruit of the spirit may become increasingly evident. The goal of each christian is to be conformed to the image of Christ, where we resemble Jesus’ life, primarily in our love for God and for others. This life will be noticeably distinct from the life of unbelievers. Our heavenly Father purposes to help all believers in this goal and will lovingly correct and even rebuke his children who resist his best for their lives (matthew 22:37-40; john 14:21;romans 12:1-2, 17-21; 1 corinthians 6:1-8; II Corinthians 3:18; galatians 5:22-23;ephesians 6:18; philippians 4:6; hebrews 12:5-14;james 5:12-18). Church We believe that the church of Jesus Christ consists of all who have believed that Jesus’ death on the cross has paid the penalty for their sins. These are God’s family of redeemed people, also referred to as his body and his temple to emphasize the fact that he lives within each of us. The Bible encourages local groups of believers to regularly meet together to glorify God through worship, prayer, fellowship, instruction in God’s word, and the celebration of baptism and communion toward the goal of communicating God’s plan of salvation with others and training those who believe to live as disciples of Christ. The people of God are to demonstrate the love and compassion of Christ through word and deed. (matthew 26:26-29 and 28:18-20;acts 2:42;1 Corinthians 12:12-13; ephesians 1:22-23, 2:19-22, 3:6-10, 4:11-16 and 5:25-32;1 thessalonians 2:14; hebrews 10:25; 1 peter 2:9-10; 1 john 4:17). Ordinances We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ instituted two ordinances for the church: (a) full immersion water baptism of believers in the gospel, symbolizing their death and burial with respect to their old life and their being reborn into a new life in Christ, and (b) the Lord's Supper (or communion) as a means to remember his sacrifice on the cross on our behalf. Both of these rituals are only symbols to remind us of what has already taken place and offer no one any merit toward salvation (Matthew 28:19-20;Luke 22:19-20;john 13:1-17;Acts 2:38;Romans 6:3-14; 1 Corinthians 11:20-26, 33-34; jude 12). Eternal Destiny We believe in a literal Heaven and a literal Hell. All those who place their faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ will spend eternity in Heaven with the Lord, while those who reject Jesus' free gift of salvation proclaimed in the gospel will spend eternity separated from God and His people in hell (Psalm 9:17; Matthew 5:3,5:22, 18:9 and 25:31-34; Mark 9:42-49; Luke 12:5; John 3:18; Hebrews 12:23; 1 Peter 1:4; Revelation 14:10-11 and 20:11-15). Satan We believe Satan to be a real person, a great enemy of God and man, who along with a company of rebellious angels who serve him, purposes to steal, kill and destroy people’s lives and keep mankind from turning to Jesus for salvation and an abundant life. Satan uses many avenues to bring people to ruin and is only limited by the sovereign rule of god. Christ has already judged Satan and will ultimately condemn and confine him to the lake of fire where he will remain forever (genesis 3:1; job 1:6-12; matthew 4:3-11; john 8:44, 10:10 and 12:31; 2 corinthians 4:4; 1 john 3:8 and 5:19; revelation 12:1-10 and 20:10). Rapture We believe in the Pre-Tribulation Rapture of the Church through which all believers will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air, and be taken out of the world prior to the Tribulation that will then come upon the earth (Isaiah 26:20; Matthew 24:29-31; Luke 21:36; Romans 1:18, 5:9; 1 Thessalonians 1:10, 4:13-16 and 5:9; 2 Peter 2:7-9; Revelation 3:10, 5:7-10 and 7:13-14). Second Coming We believe the Second Coming of Jesus Christ will be a personal, visible return to earth. The Second Coming will coincide with the establishment of His millennial kingdom, the resurrection, final judgment, eternal blessing of the righteous, and eternal condemnation of the wicked (Matthew 16:27; Acts 1:11;Revelation 19:11-16, 20:11-15).
