About Living Hope Church
We are a community united by our faith and love for Jesus Christ. We are also a church, an assembly of believers called to fulfill a mission: to spread the glory of Jesus Christ through Gospel preaching and Gospel living. We gather each week to sing praises, hear the Word of God preached, pray together and enjoy fellowship. But being a church is far more than having church services. Christian worship involves all of life. So we seek to live our lives out of an overflow of joy in Christ that moves us to obey His command to love one another as He has loved us and to “walk in a manner worthy of the Lord.”
What is so important about going to church? Most church services are held when many people are enjoying other things like golf, football, yard work, a trip to the beach or just washing the car. And after all few people really believe that going to church will solve all your problems or make you happy or even get you to heaven when you die. We certainly don’t believe that attending church will do all that.
So why should you visit our church? Certainly the church is a wonderful place to enjoy a real sense of community. It is a place where people sing together and talk together and encourage one another and share their lives with each other. It is a family place where the stranger can feel welcome and wanted. But that is not the most important thing about church.
The most important thing about the church is Jesus Christ. Church meetings are gatherings of people who have heard and believed the claims of Christ. It is a place where people who once were a million miles away from God have come to know Him like a loving father. It is a place where people who have been reconciled to God through faith in Christ gather to worship God with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs and to pray and hear what the Bible really says (rather than what its critics claim it says).
It is a place where you can hear the claims and warnings and promises of Christ clearly proclaimed and explained. It is a place where you can hear the Bible’s answers to your questions about God and life and death and eternity. It is a place where you can see Christianity on display in the lives of ordinary people who aren’t especially religious but who have come to trust Jesus Christ. Visitors are always welcome at our services.
Even if you have never attended church before you will not feel awkward or out of place. You won’t be called upon to do or say anything, you will be our guest. If you have any questions feel free to call the church office and speak to a pastor personally. We have time to speak with you and we have literature that can help you understand what Christianity and the gospel of Jesus Christ is all about.
