Meet The Pastor

If you are looking for a warm, welcoming, inclusive, loving community of faith where you can be yourself, be supported and challenged to live faithfully, come give our church a try. We are a different kind of church. We seek to be non-judgmental and embracing of all. We try to live what Jesus taught: to "love your neighbor as yourself." If you are looking for a church that is involved in social justice as well as community events, you've found the right place. I am an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ and have served at the First Congregational Church in Canandaigua since 2019. We worship at 10:30 from the Sunday after Labor Day until Father's Day and then move to summer hours with 9:30 worship Memorial Day through Labor Day. You can find our website at canandaiguachurch.org. There is a link to live streaming on our website or you can find us on YouTube. I welcome people of all ages, races, genders, abilities, sexual orientations, class, social background or religious affiliation. I am blessed to serve a congregation that is very committed to social action and justice for all. We have traditional worship with contemporary progressive theology. We also have a fabulous Christian Education director who creates her own lessons for Sunday School each week. Our youth group is committed and we have a number of adults who participate in Adult Education. Our organist plays beautiful classical music and our thirty member choir sings God praises in four part harmonies. Come and join us!
