Meet The Pastor

Pastor J. Hortenberry
When I was growing up, church was the last thing on my mind. As far as I was concerned, if God wanted for me to know Him, He was going to have to come out of that big scary looking church. Superstitions, old wives tales, myths, and fables peppered my life growing up. So much so, that as a result, I had a bigger fear of the devil than trust of God. When I was about 10 years old, I started to hop on the church bus that came through our neighborhood, just to get away from the boredom of another Sunday morning. One day, the preacher asked if anyone wanted to accept Christ as their savior. My buddy and I went to him after the service and accepted Jesus as our savior. I didn’t know why I did it, other than the fact that it would be nice to have some “back up” if my superstitions failed. We’ll that didn’t last long and I soon found myself running around doing things I shouldn’t. My wife and I had been married for almost 10 years and in 2002 we both allowed Christ Jesus to become Lord of our lives. I have 2 years of study at Vineyard Leadership Institute and severed at my former church in multiple positions. After three years of constant tugging of the Holy Spirit and much prayer I agreed to start Your church. As much as I love to teach I want to learn with you as we study Scripture together.
Please pray about finding the church that God wants you in and go there (yes even if it isn’t Your church) because It is always best to do the will of God. However, if you need a place to draw closer to Jesus without a lot of distractions then maybe Your church is the place for you; come hang out pray and find out what God has instore for your future.
In Christ,
J. Hortenberry
