Meet The Pastor
Pastor Chris Wimberly
Pastor Chris Wimberly was born just outside of Fayetteville, AR and grew up all throughout his elementary and middle-school school years in Amarillo, TX before moving to San Clemente, CA in the 9th grade. Pastor Chris holds a degree in Christian Ministry & Leadership from Vanguard University and has been serving in ministry for the past 10+ years. He has a passion for faithfully teaching God's Word and a deep love for people.
Pastor Chris' wife, Christie, was born and raised in Southern California and grew up riding horses in the beautiful hills of San Juan Capistrano. Christie has always had a love for the Lord and for children. Christie went to school for Early Child Education and was a preschool teacher for 6 years, and has served in Children's Ministry and Youth Ministry for 5+ years.
Chris and Christie have been married since 2011 and have two children: Canon and Charis. The Wimberly's are excited to take this new step of faith and to establish their roots in the Texas Hill Country and meet all of you.
In summer of 2019, the Lord started to open the eyes of Pastor Chris and his wife Christie to plant a church in the Austin Texas Area. Over many months of prayer and fasting, the Lord began to place a new love and a deep desire in Chris and Christie's hearts for the people all over the Texas Hill Country Region.
As an associate pastor at Calvary Chapel San Juan Capistrano, Pastor Chris reached out to the church leadership who agreed with this new call to be sent out to begin a new work in Austin, Texas. Below are the verses the Lord spoke clearly to Christ and Christie confirming the call to come:
"'Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.' He said, 'Come.' So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus." (Matthew 14:28-29)
