Lead Pastor Scott Nichols
Pastor Scott Nichols is Lead Pastor at Destiny Church. He and our First Lady, LaWanda Nichols, lead our congregation with love and with a passion for helping others discover their potential in God. Pastor Nichols, a native Houstonian, is an ordained minister with the UPCI, who received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from Houston Baptist University in 1987. Before beginning full time ministry, he worked as a CPA, and still maintains his license to practice in the State of Texas today. Since 1997, he has served two other congregations as Associate Pastor and Executive Pastor. He has also served as a full time Minister of Music and Worship Leader. In his lifetime, he has worked in virtually every area of ministry offered in a local congregation. In his years of ministry, he has written numerous praise & worship choruses and directed numerous dramatic productions. Our First Lady has served faithfully with him in ministry, as events coordinator and secretary for their local church for over 22 years. She has blessed many with her anointed singing, gracious Christian Spirit, and impeccable taste and skill in decorating, planning, and executing 100s of church events. Twelve years ago, Pastor and First Lady Nichols began to feel a call from God to plant a new church. This burden and passion became more intense near the end of 2016, and the details of Destiny Church began to unfold as God spoke in clearly defined terms. As the details unfolded, Missouri City, with its 80,000 souls, became ground zero for God's plan. Our Pastor and First Lady feel that they have been given a mandate from God that has become the mission of Destiny Church: To make disciples of Jesus Christ, and to help connect others to their God-given destiny!
