Lead Pastor Keenan Collins
At the age of 22 under the leadership of Pastor V.L. Forkland, Keenan accepted his calling to preach the gospel. He delivered his first sermon on February 27th, 2005 titled “It Aint Religion, It’s Relationship.” This 8 minute sermon would be the catalyst for a divine assignment to share the Good News of Jesus as often as possible.
In 2008 while attending a small Baptist church in the heart of Los Angeles Keenan met his future wife, Zzaj Oliver. This God ordained connection would blossom into a family of six with four beautiful girls (Kennedy Grace, Zion Noel, Nina Delone and Simone Evette).
Keenan has served in various leadership roles in ministry since accepting the call to preach. In 2021 after much prayer and consideration Keenan and Zzaj launched The Gathering Church in Renton, Washington where he currently serves as Senior Pastor. A ministry that believes that the church is a hospital for the sick (Mark 2:17) rather than a social club for the self righteous.
Keenan is determined to share the gospel of Jesus Christ across the globe. He has an incomparable love for God’s Word and His people. It is not by coincidence or happenstance that his voice is being elevated in this season to proclaim the Gospel. He does not waiver on the truth of God’s Word and believes that it is by the power of the Holy Spirit and the preaching of the Gospel alone that changes lives.
