Meet The Pastor

Reverend Nicole Farley
I came to serve First Presbyterian Church in 2011. Before that, I grew up in northern Illinois, went to college in central Illinois (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, 1994 Bachelor of Fine Arts in Industrial Design), married my college sweetheart, Scott, in northern Illinois, had our son, Jim, in northern Illinois, worked my first career in northern Illinois, attended seminary in northern Illinois (McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago, 2007 Master of Divinity), and worked as a Director of Youth Ministries in northern Illinois (Winnetka Presbyterian Church). It should come as no surprise at this point to learn that I still live in northern Illinois (Gurnee).
I am so grateful that God drew me over state lines to Waukesha and to this congregation, where I get to lead worship, baptize babies and adults alike, celebrate communion, be part of Bible study, adult education classes, and church programs, and spend time with our youth, especially over ice cream and on mission trips, and with the whole congregation in a variety of fellowship events. God is ever full of surprises, bringing me places I could never have imagined as a young girl growing up in the Catholic Church. My faith led me to the Presbyterian Church which led me to seminary which led me to Waukesha. I wait, as patiently as I am capable, to see what surprises God has in store for us together.
When I'm not at the church (or on I-94), I'm likely at a movie with my family or planning, plotting, or planting my garden (pumpkins are my favorite to grow). I'm also an avid reader of fiction, when I make the time for it, and welcome movie and book suggestions alike!
