Baptist- Independent

Independent Baptist churches were formed in the late 1800s and early 1900s because they were concerned about the encroachment of liberalism and modernism on the church and national conventions. They hold traditionally conservative beliefs while maintaining the major tenets of the Baptist faith. They are also characterized by independence from authority of denominations and similar conventions.
