Southern Baptist Convention

The Southern Baptist Convention is the largest Protestant denomination in the United States and also the largest Baptist denomination in the U.S. They are known for sending and supporting missionaries all over the world. This denomination observes water immersion baptism for adults to affirm an individual's conversion to Christianity. They do not allow women to participate in the pastorate ministry based on certain Bible verses. In terms of doctrine and practice, they are evangelical.
