Pastor George Barrera Jr. received his call to ministry at the age of 19 years old. He thought that he was not worthy of such a high calling so he went into the law enforcement profession instead. He began his law enforcement career with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office in January 1995. Pastor George continued to feel the tug and the nudge on his heart for many years until he started helping out in different ministries In the church that he had accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and savior. Under the mentorship of different Pastors and men of God, Pastor George began preaching the Word of God in different churches and small groups throughout San Antonio. Pastor George is currently the English service Pastor for Journey to the Cross (Nondenominational) church. Pastor George is a motivating, on fire, Holy Spirit filled, Bible based, preaching, teaching believing Pastor who has a passion to encourage and help people that have been hurt throughout all different walks of life. He is a down to earth Pastor who will motivate, and inspire people to rise up to be who God is calling them to be. Pastor George has dedicated his life to helping people who are in need and brings his whole heart, and life experiences to the table in each of his sermons. His style of preaching is Charismatic, practical, and yet profound. He preaches in such a motivational manner that he is able to relate to this generation. Pastor George has been pastoring and leading at Journey to the Cross church in a part time capacity since October 2012. The church is growing spiritually, and physically. Pastor George continues to humbly love, lead, inspire, influence, encourage, and motivate believers into a deeper, and closer relationship with God today.
