Meet The Pastor
Lead Pastor Mitchel Kirchmeyer
Since 2011, Mitch has been delighted to be married to his best friend, Katie. They enjoy Family Photo - smallplaying board games, hiking, camping, and doing house projects together. Mitch and Katie were involved in a college ministry called Cru (formerly Campus Crusade for Christ) both as students and then for two years after college as full time campus ministry interns. During their time with Cru, they gained a passion for helping others follow Jesus and for introducing people to Jesus for the first time. Mitch received his Master of Divinity degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, IL. After graduating in 2015, Mitch was trained in church planting (starting new churches) through a residency with Reach Chicago. They moved to Woodstock, IL in the summer of 2015 with three others to start Good News Church. Katie and Mitch are overjoyed to be the parents of an energetic, sweet, good-humored little boy named Hudson who came into their lives on March 21, 2018.
