Deborah and I are beyond blessed to be serving the wonderful body of believers at Sugar Grove Bible Church. This is our first time as pastors, although we have been blessed to host a weekly “house-church” meeting for over fifty years and still marvel at what the Holy Spirit has to teach us anew each day. While we were not seeking to lead a church, we are so thankful that our Heavenly Father has put us in this position at this time. We are life-long east-central Indiana residents, and have lived south of Shirley, Indiana for the past forty years. Next summer will be fifty years of a truly blessed Christ-centered marriage, and that blessed journey has given us three amazing sons, three wonderful daughter-in-laws, and six grandchildren that are our joy. Deborah and I have spend our adult lives as educators. Before we we’re pastors Deborah taught junior high science and math, and I have taught high school agriculture/FFA for 47 years. We love to see grandkids in their varied activities when we can, but when any “free time” exists we can be found fishing, woodworking, baking, or pursuing our passion for Christmas decorations. We hope to welcome you soon to Sugar Grove Bible Church.

At 80 years young our brother, James Carie, has been teaching the Word of God since he was first saved in 1972. From churches, jails, small groups to his VA appts. the stores he visits and Court-side Ministry, he never let's a chance go by without sharing the love of Christ and the bible's life-changing truths from a life laid down in service to others. No sin is too big, no heart is too broken to him. He has a gift of making you truly feel you can heal and grow and find your identity and destiny in what God has made you to uniquely be.
He has studied under the incredibly anointed teacher, Derek Prince, for over 50 years and is currently teaching from his book, "The Foundational Truths," during Sunday School that starts at 9am. Come join us and soak in the teaching gift that God has for you. The Lord is in our Midst and powerful things are happening every Sunday at Sugar Grove Bible Church.
